Hello lovelies! Today's post is about something common to most wardrobes but brand new to mine: denim cutoffs, aka "booty shorts".
I've technically had denim cutoffs in the past, but they stopped right above the knee. My mom never let me get the teeny "booty short" kind as she thought they were creep magnets. I'm 18 now and can do what I want without her permission, so I bought my first pair in a pretty maroon color a week or so ago for $15.
The irony of it is that she was with me when I bought them. I still live at home (but will be moving out soon), so she said I can only wear them to the beach. She even said that when I move out, I still can only wear them to the beach. We then had a slight tiff about the fact that I'm 18, so she really can't stop me from doing what I want to do. I decided that I would follow her instructions and only wear them to the beach as she managed to make a valid point: they will attract creeps if I wear them around town, and any guy who approaches me while I'm wearing these shorts is not really interested in getting to know me. That being said, I am no prude, and I wear all sorts of "scandalous" attire from crop tops, to teeny rompers, to stilettos, etc.. I've even posted some of my undergarments (for lack of a better universal word) on social media for promotional purposes or life hacks. However, I do believe that a little privacy/imagination is a crucial part in dressing, so given the fact that these show some buns when I walk is not exactly what I want to be advertising. Nonetheless, they are still super cute, comfy, and I love 'em.
They also go great with my oxblood Converse.
Also, these shorts are quite unique as they say they are a size 3. It's a juniors size--women's sizes (typically) don't come in odd numbers. I brought this up to show you lovelies that size doesn't matter! I have dresses in size XS, S, and 0, I have pants in size 0 and 2, I have skinny jeans in 0, and then I have these in a 3. On average I am a 0, but the point is that sizes vary all the time. I'm 5'5", and despite the assumptions of various people, I do not weight under 100lbs. I workout almost every day and have gained a significant amount of muscle thus far, so I weight between 125lbs and 130lbs depending on what day it is and whose scale I'm stepping on. You are beautiful at any size. You are beautiful at any height, you are beautiful at any age, you are beautiful at any weight, you are beautiful at any color/race/whatever you want to call it, and so on. Yes, someone may benefit from/enjoy your beauty, but you don't owe it to them. You are far more valuable than a "look".
Thank you lovelies!!! I hope you enjoyed this post and that it helped in some way. Please feel free to share with a friend or someone you know.

LOVELIES!!! I am back from my hiatus and have a very very special post for you all--it's all about my very first pair of custom made/designed shoes and how you can design and order your own!!! I received my first design in the mail Monday, and I am quite impressed. Check them out below!
As you can see from the label above, the company that manufactured my shoes is called Shoes of Prey. Shoes of Prey was founded in 2009 in Australia by Michael Fox, Jodie Fox and Mike Knapp with the goal to help women create their perfect shoe. The headquarters are in LA, and the shoes are manufactured in China. Free shipping is provided to almost the entire US, and duties and taxes are covered for those areas as well. My shoes were shipped for free.
Shoes of Prey is so important to me because I adore shoes, and it can be hard to find the perfect pair. Being able to take charge of how your shoes are made allows you to create your perfect shoe and leave your own personal fingerprint on them as you can create a masterpiece that is entirely unique to you. My shoes in this post may seem simple, but they are so much more than that. I picked the heel height myself (5.8 inches to be exact--that's as high as they'll go!), I chose the heel color, the platform color, the main color, the sole color, the insole color, the insole trim color, the width, and the shoe size. There may even be something else I had control over choosing that I can't remember now. These shoes are mine, they are me.
I chose standard width as I have narrow feet but didn't want to be squeezed in. The fit is perfect. My shoe/heel size (on average) is a 9.5, so I selected 9.5, and the fit is perfect. Like all heels, these need to be broken in, but they are comfortable nonetheless as Shoes of Prey sews in insole cushioning to make your shoes more comfortable.
My shoes are lilac dress suede with an Italian mauve soft leather insole trim. The insole is traditional beige leather and the soles are tan.
The color in person is noticeably darker than online, so that is something to be mindful of. I still love the shoes, so I decided to keep them even though they have a 365 day money back guarantee and will fix your shoes free of charge if something isn't right (in the instance that you don't damage them before sending them back).
Shoes of Prey can be very expensive if you're not rich. Flats typically start at $129, heels at $179, etc.. Certain materials and add ons add on the cost. I've wanted to design a pair for years (since middle school), but I didn't have the money back then, and when I finally got the money, I thought I'd be wasting it if I splurged. If you can afford this treat and you know you'll take care of your shoes, invest in a pair--you'll be so glad you did. If you can save up, I recommend that as well. I think they knew I was torn in buying a pair as I've had an account for years but made no purchase because a couple of weeks ago they sent me a $20 off coupon. They've never offered me this before, so I jumped on it. With the discount, my shoes were $159 exactly. They are the most expensive shoes I've ever purchased, and I have no regrets! I have other designs as well, and I'm hoping to purchase those too.
The price may seem extreme, but it's really a steal with everything they offer. First off, you can design endless styles of shoes with their 3D designer that allows you to create your magic slippers with a simple click here and there. They're custom, they're handmade, and they are express shipped for free (for many) in two weeks! I ordered mine on the April 7th, and they arrived on April 17th. It didn't even take a full two weeks! If that doesn't sell you, maybe the packaging will (by the way, this is not sponsored, I'm just obsessed with this company).
After taking off the plastic packaging and removing a brown box, I unveiled the Shoes of Prey black shoe box which came in mint condition.
After opening a slick black envelope, I pulled this cute card out.
I pulled this card out of the envelope as well.
With every pair of shoes, they include a free Shoes of Prey shoe bag.
They also include a smaller black bag with the following goodies.
Replacement heel tips
Gel insole cushions
Fabric insole cushions
And a shoe care guide.
Everything also comes wrapped in their custom black paper, white tissue paper, and a thick black ribbon.
Shoes of Prey is a true goldmine and if you can invest in a pair of their shoes and desire to do so, I hope you'll love them as much as I love mine.
Thank you lovelies!!!
