Ma Fille Betsey (My Girl Betsey)

It was a glorious summer afternoon. I had the day off work, so I decided to dilly dally around town and look for some things I'd potentially like to have in my closet. Prior to my excursion, I decided that I wouldn't spend anything over $50 as I wanted to save some money and challenge myself. I found plenty of items under $50, but none that spoke to me.

I'll go to one more store, and then I'm done.

I decided to conclude my excursion with a trip to DSW.

Picture
Upon browsing the new selections, I decided to take a trip to the clearance section as some of the best gems are often on sale. Out of nowhere I spotted these GORGEOUS blush, genuine suede, pointed, rhinestone encrusted pumps. At first I was hesitant as I try to stay away from anything with rhinestones, pearls, sequins, etc., as the repair is typically harder when it comes to these shoes. Nonetheless, I pulled one out and slipped it on as it was (and is) the most beautiful shoe in existence. When I saw the blue soles I got even more excited as I knew they were Betsey Johnson pumps.
Picture
They were so beautiful on I could barely breathe! I knew 1) I didn't need these pumps, 2) I had no where to wear these pumps, 3) I really didn't need these pumps, so I decided I'd walk around in them a bit and them put them back. They were soo comfortable--the second most comfortable pair of heels I own, which I couldn't believe as they are so damn high and skinny. As I looked at them in the mirror I fell more and more in love.

To my surprise, I took them off and put them back in the box and even on the shelf. Then as I turned away, I thought of some other gal wearing them and strutting around and it about killed me, so I snatched them up so fast and decided I was gonna get 'em.

Picture
Before we begin, there are a few things we need to go over. 1) I inspected the pumps 3 times over and noticed one small rhinestone was missing. That about killed me itself, but the savvy little craftster I am knew I had spare rhinestones EVERYWHERE and a little crazy glue would do the trick, and within two hours of buying them I had them repaired--which took less than five minutes. No one would even know the difference, as I had to look them over 3 times to know one was missing, and my rhinestone was the perfect fit. 2) The original price was $139.00 which was wayyy above my $50 bracket. So, how did I solve my second problem?
Picture
1) They were on sale for $99.94, and the sticker on the box had an additional discount of 30% which took about $30 off and left them around $70. I then had $15 in rewards which brings that down to $55. I also paid $10 of my total in cash, and when I use cash I sort of associate it as free money as it is no longer apart of my account. Obviously it's not free money, but I tend to be a bit more flexible with it. That brings that grand total down to $45 + tax which fell in line perfectly with my $50 bracket. Goal setting is a beautiful thing.

I am not rich yet nor do I live in Beverly Hills, but I am a hard worker and believe that when it is possible, you should treat yourself as you simply deserve it. After cutting subscriptions and other frivolities as I could not comfortably pay for them, I chose to treat myself after I got my new job and started saving. Just as it's important to treat yourself, it's important to save when you can as you never know when you may need it!!!

Side note: I turn 19 November 19th of this year and always plan a really special outfit that includes black, and/or white/cream, but I tend to be a bit more flexible with my shoes. I think these babies might just make the grade, so stay tuned!!

Le Bombshell (The Bombshell)

LOVELIES, I bought a new garment recently, and I want to tell you guys about it in case you're interested in getting one too. The garment I will be reviewing for you all today is the Victoria's Secret Bombshell Bra.
Picture
If you read my latest post, then you know I recently purchased a bra from ThirdLove. I love ThirdLove, and I recommend ThirdLove bras to everyone I know, but that doesn't mean I'm going to throw away all other brands as other brands have great bras as well. I've also been a Victoria's Secret junkie since I was 16, and a new company isn't going to change that.

Shortly after my ThirdLove purchase, I was browsing on Poshmark (as I am obsessed with Poshmark), and I spotted this gorgeous Victoria's Secret Bombshell push-up bra in a 32B. The seller had it listed for $45, but she sold it to me for $35. On average, Victoria's Secret Bombshell bras are around $50 and up. This one was close to $70 originally, so I got it for a great deal. I had never tried a bombshell bra prior, but I tend to favor push-up over natural when it comes to bras, so I figured I'd like it--it's also multi-way which is always a plus in my book. However, removing the straps and hooking them back on is such a hassle--it literally takes a few minutes to remove/put on both straps when it should take seconds.

So when I first tried on this bra, I had a million different reactions. Let's start with when I first held the bra in my hands. Below is a summary of how my thought process went.

This is heavier than I was expecting.

Oh my God there is so much padding. There is so much padding! Where are my boobs supposed to go?!?!

This is really pretty though.

Well, I guess I should try it on.

Oh my goodness.

There is no way I can wear this outside--how am I supposed to forget about all this padding strapped to my chest?!?!

Calm down, calm down. It is not that bad. I mean, it's a little intense, but it's comfortable. Plus, the Posh seller was really sweet.

I think I like it.

Picture
The bombshell is absolutely gorgeous, but the padding is on the verge of ridiculous, so I don't know if I'd ever pay full price for it. Despite all the padding, there's not a huge shock factor when taking it off as you can't really notice the padding from the outside--it  looks (somewhat) natural on. I showed it to my sister (wearing it), and she didn't know there was padding until I told her. When I took off the bra later and let her feel the padding, she was even more shocked as she had no idea it was so intense. The pictures really don't do enough justice--it's something you have to go into VS/order online and feel for yourself.

Picture
It has 4 rows of three hooks for maximum support and comfort--even with the padding and underwire, this bra really is comfortable.
Picture
It's got this nice soft swatch covering the hooks for comfort. After giving this bra a full review and wearing it for a while, the comfort level is on the same spectrum as ThirdLove. The only real difference is that ThirdLove's padding in their push-up is memory foam and it's more natural.
Picture
Again, the bombshell adds 2 cups, so that's something to be aware of.
Picture
All of the details on this bra are beautiful from the black lace cascaded over the nude cups to the cross stitch ribbon connecting the cups in the front.

Thank you lovelies!! I hope you enjoyed this post and it gave you some insight.
