It's true. In regards to my fashion designs, I don't design anything that I wouldn't wear because I simply cannot construct something that I would not want to display myself. Because my designs are all things that I desire to have and wear, they are also reflections of my personality and mood as well as my thoughts and opinions. Fashion designing is very important to me--I have been doing it for years. One of my favorite things about designing is that there are no rules. Of course there are recommendations such as physically drawing out your design and sketching it according to the ideal model physique, use water color, and more, but in my world (and the worlds of many others) I do what works best for me.
There are others that I admire such as Elie Saab whose dresses come with natural elegance and regality.
I can't look at the vintage yet timeless couture of Dolce & Gabbana without being taken back to Italy with nature and city combined topped with an aura of genuine romance that the pieces portray.
What these individuals have in common is that they each have a stage that is strictly distinct to them: a brand that cannot be replicated by any other in an original fashion.
Fun fact: An old family friend who used to work at Belk got me the mannequin in these photos a few years back. I mostly use it for decoration and to hold things--we don't have the same measurements, so I can't use this particular model for my own clothing.
Thank you lovelies,
Have a beautiful week.
