December of my sophomore year, last year, consisted of a new addition and a big change. I got second piercings in my ears, and I cut my hair really short. I was born with curly hair, and kept it chemically straightened up until I was 15. I started to grow it back out curly right before I turned sixteen then cut all the straight off as soon as school was out. It was one of the greatest decisions that I made.
This year (two days ago to be exact), I got something that I have been wanting for years now. I got a tattoo. It's five stars and means, "Achieving your dreams". I've known what I've wanted to do for as far as I can remember, and I've already started doing those things now. I am achieving and living my dreams. There are five stars because as my mom says, I am a five star at what I do.
I got my tattoo done at Caribbean Connection which is located in Jacksonville, Florida. Getting this done was quite the adventure. First, I scheduled my tattoo appointment about a week ago to make sure I had a spot before Christmas. I paid my deposit, then had to fill out three forms. The form that took the longest to get done was my parental consent notary form because I'm 17. Why did I get a tattoo done in Florida when I live in Georgia? Because in Georgia, you have to be 18 regardless, and in Florida, you have to be at least 16 with parental consent. Even better, I had to get the form notarized in Florida which added to the fun. After a long journey of driving with crazy exits turns, and crowded streets, we made it to Caribbean Connection which is probably one of the coolest tattoo parlors that exists (They sell Converse, Vans, sunglasses, skateboards, dresses, bralettes, etc. They even do piercings). Long story short, it did hurt. Especially when the guy had to dig in the needle to color in the stars. I made it through though.
The first two photos below were taken when I got home, washed it all up, and put ointment on it.
Thank you lovelies,
Have a beautiful week.
