Les Hotspots inhabituels (The Unusual Hotspots)

$18. That is the price of this dress and these shoes (below) together. I rescued this Mossimo dress out of the depths of the sales rack at Target one fall day last year, and once I tried it on, I knew I needed it. It sure felt like I needed it. Unfortunately, I was low on money, and despite the fact that it was on sale for $13, it was $13 that I didn't have. After lollygagging around Target with my sister, I pried the gorgeous cloth that you see in the picture below from my hands, and I stored it in the electronic section because I couldn't bare the thought of someone else snagging it in case I came back for it which I knew I would. What can I say? It was the only one left.

I spotted this dress very close to my 16th birthday. Since my loving mother would not take me to the concert that I wanted to go to, and she could not come up with a gift for me, she offered to buy me two albums that I wanted, two cakes, a few clothing items, along with this dress that I told her about. I was very excited about the albums and such and ecstatic when we went to Target the next day and I found my treasure still in the electronics section waiting for me.

I posted these faux suede and snake skin wedges (below) on Instagram when I was just starting out, and I got them from CATO for $5.

My reason for giving you the deets to my sixteenth birthday present and my CATO find is to share that you can get affordable possessions from wherever you desire if you are willing to delve in and find what is waiting for you.

Three highly esteemed stores with amazing sales

1) Charlotte Russe
I spoke very briefly on Charlotte Russe in a post a while back with the mention on a sequined lip top that I was gifted from there. I always thought that Charlotte Russe was not luxury brand expensive but still too pricey for me to shop with my current budget just because of assumptions. I was incorrect. Charlotte Russe does have expensive selections, but they have sales that start at $1, sometimes less. For Real. There are so many products on sale that you could get 10 or more items under $50. If you seek trendy, vintage, or timeless quality items perfect for a night out, a day in school, or everyday work, take a stop by Charlotte Russe.

2) Nordstrom
Nordstrom, also briefly mentioned in the past, is the Holy Grail for those who seek luxury items. Supplying products from brands such as Givenchy, Nordstrom hands out the latest designer goods in the neatest packages. This platform is on the expensive side. They do, like many places, have a sales rack with designer and other quality items starting at prices for under $100.

3) Victoria's Secret
Victoria's Secret is a brand that is both loved and hated by many. It is not a place that I would have imagined myself to associate with outside of their annual fashion show, but I found myself in desire of some bras that weren't designed for twelve year-olds, and they were one of the few places to actually sell my size. I was very pleased upon my visit as I got three bras for $12.99 each. Plus, they are always having sales.

You have your stores that are known for being inexpensive, and you have your brands that are known for selling items that you have to reserve, and then you have your stores/brands that have an equal amount of both. The latter is the most prominent. To know if you can catch a good sale at a particular place, you've gotta just dive in and see. You may just find yourself a new hot spot.

Thank you lovelies,
Stay fabulous
