Anyways, I made a dress for this year's dance!! Because school hasn't even started yet, I don't have any concrete plans. For all I know I may just ditch homecoming and hang out with bae. I'll have to actually get a bae first to do that. Back to the dress. It is a tan/buff infinity dress made of performance fabric--basically it's in the stretchy fabric family along with the stuff they use to make dance costumes. My dress is a bit different from the usual infinity dress. The skirt is not a circle skirt. That's basically the only difference. It is mostly seamless, and I love it!!! Check it out!
Tips for picking out a homecoming/formal dress
- If you're going to a school dance, make sure that you can wear it to your school. Many schools are updating their dress requirement rules.
-Choose a dress that you like, not one that you want others to like. At the end of the day, you're the one who has to wear the dress.
-Make sure that you can move around in it. My dress is long, not super stretchy at the bottom, but I can walk, dance and drive in it. Don't get a dress that hinders you from moving regardless of how gorgeous it is.
-See what your friends plan to buy. If you're worried about getting the same dress as another girl or are worried that your dresses will be too similar, see what your friends are looking for, and tell them what you're thinking about getting so you don't end up looking like twins. Maybe go shopping together.
-Get a dress that you can afford. It's homecoming. Not your wedding day. You can look beautiful without going broke! It's true! I went to homecoming freshman year and got a dress for around $17. It got lots of compliments, and I was the only one with it as well!!! Here it is:
