First of all, I've learned so much about fashion and the industry as a whole, and I'm still learning--every day. My blog has been featured in 4 online magazines which is really exciting for me. I've (virtually) met other bloggers and photographers who are interested in the same things that I am. I've also had the amazing support from all of my beautiful viewers!! If you've been to my site before and are a regular reader, thank you. You rock. If you are new to my site, WELCOME!! I hope you like it here. (:
Let's clear something up: A common question that I get is "Do you get paid?". The answer is no. I could get paid through listing ads on my site, but I know how I hate seeing ads cluttered around sites that I'm trying to visit, so I don't want to do that to you guys. I literally will close out a page if I see overbearing ads around it. If I work with a larger label in the future, I may make room for 1 of their ads on the site, but nothing more. Another famous blogger route for payment is through affiliate companies. For example, the company supplies you with gifts: products, money, etc., you review the products, and the cycle continues. I do not have any affiliates either. All of my reviews are sparked by my own interest. If I were to do a review for an affiliate, I would let you know. I did apply for some of these "blogger internships" very early on though. Over 15 to be exact. I heard back from none except for one who told me that my followers weren't enough for them. I was upset at first, but I know that if it was meant to be, it would have been! I'm better for it.
Also, I'm still figuring things out.
As stated before, I photograph the majority of my photos. All of the photos in this post were taken by me. All of the photos in the previous post were taken by me. Let's have a round of applause for my photography skills. I'm kidding. (: My mom took most of my photos when I first started out, but 98% of them are taken by me now as she has other things to do (I can't expect her to to everything), and I've figured out how to take them myself. I recently made my first lookbook video as well. We need to have a little talk about that video.
Ok, my camera resolution is really high regardless of what you may or may not have seen in that video. Also, the video runs perfectly through Windows Media Player, but when I upload it into the (HD) application through the server I use for my site, it stalls every few seconds, and the quality is not HD. I asked you guys for feedback on how the video was running to see if others were having the same issue, but I got no responses despite the significant of number of views I got for that post. I was really dissapointed looking back over it today to notice that the video was still acting up. I would not have kept tweeting the link to you guys had I known that it wasn't working well. Please please please communicate with me if something is not working right/you're having issues! I won't know unless you tell me. I spent over two hours yesterday talking to customer service representatives who still have yet to help me fix the issue. I am leaving the video up for now, but I am holding off on new videos until I figure something out. Hit me up if you know any video wizzes.
Update: The video is fixed.
Today's look consists of throwback items. I got this striped top in 9th grade from Belk, these coral corduroy skinny jeans in 7th grade from Old Navy, and my boots from Target in 7th grade.
I'd love to know more about you all! Comment sometime! If you read today's post, leave your name, and share something about yourself below!! Only the Gucci people will. (;
Thank you lovelies!
Have a beautiful week.
