The look in this post was my look from yesterday, and I did a full face of makeup. On my eyelids I used Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Eyeshadow form the 'Adventurous' quad. The Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Eyeshadow quads are some of my favorite eyeshadow palettes, and I have about 4 or 5 of them. I love the 'Adventurous' quad as it's very natural--dark brown, light brown/golden with glitter, medium/dark green with glitter, and a creamy powder color (which I only used once because it's so extreme on my complexion) make up this palette. I recommend checking out the other quads/palettes as well as they are paraben free (which can be hard to find from drugstore brand), and they are perfect for traveling or carrying in your purse. The colors are also really pigmented and they have a wide variety of colors. My current favorite mascara is Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, so I applied it to my lashes. Having black eyelashes makes mascara a favorite of mine because my eyelashes get to stay their natural color. This mascara is a bit pricey ($23), but it's worth the price as it elongates your lashes (mine are too long to wear glasses when I put this stuff on), thickens/adds volume to your lashes, curls your lashes, etc..
For my foundation, I used Laura Geller Baked Liquid Radiance Foundation. I just noticed the other day that this foundation has color correcting pigments, so if you're into that sort of thing, this foundation may save you a lot of time and money as well as save you from exposing your skin to too many products/ingredients. I did pay $38 for this foundation at Ulta, but it's worth the price due to the color correcting pigments, the amount of product, the design (it's in a glass/ceramic container with a sturdy pump), the coverage, etc.. It's the only foundation I use when I wear foundation, and I recommend it to all. The shade I buy is 'Deep' which blends with my complexion perfectly so my face, neck, etc. are the same color and I don't have to mix it with another shade.
My favorite lipsticks at the moment are Too Faced Melted Matte Liquefied Long Wear Lipstick in the shade 'Cool Girl' and Dolce K by Kylie Cosmetics as they are almost the exact same shade and look like my skin color when I'm wearing foundation. Without foundation, they are almost my exact skin shade, but the foundation really pulls the look together. If I had to choose Too Faced or Kylie's, I'd choose Too Faced as I love Cool Girl just as much as Dolce K in regards to the shade, but Cool Girl is so much more moisturizing, unscented, bigger, and I can pick it up in the store which saves me time and money. However, I ordered a new tube of Dolce K about a week before I picked up Cool Girl, so I'm alternating between the two right now. Yesterday I wore Dolce K.
The faux leather skirt is also from H&M and goes with just about everything. Since it was a cool/warm day, I didn't want to do jeans, but I didn't want to do a dress either. The crop + high skirt mix allowed me to wear a crop top without being too exposed to the elements. I also added black Merona tights from Target and Nine West black booties. I call this look 'Dark Valentine'.
